When my children were young, I had aspirations to leave a documented account of witnessing them grow from babies to adults, with all the inspiring moments between.
As a survivor of Intimate Partner Violence, writing was a way to journal what was happening and try to make it make sense. Today, I am actively working on my storytelling in hopes something I have to share will help others.
Below are just a couple of my published works while some others are in the queue to be published. At the moment I have a few ideas for books fighting for priority in my head, including a very personal account of my journey.
Privileged.
My first written account in short form of my blessed upbringing in a loving household through over 20 years of Intimate Partner Violence. 'Privileged' because I have the benefit of having had an almost ideal childhood to compare my later years in life that tested my resilience. This piece was where it all began for me.
Choices, choices.
In my early work with abused children, I often heard my coworker's mantra 'choices, choices'. Now, way too many years I look back over those years and dissect where I, and society are choosing to guide life by our choices.
